ABOUT THIS PROJECTABOUT THIS PROJECT

Little lost toys are waiting on pavements and in gutters, ready to be washed away. The moment the toy fell there on the street, it became nothing more than itself, without story or history. But it still has value. Collected on maps, Connectoys are revived in their own universe, where everybody can invent stories with them.

The Connectoys project is a participatory project with 3 parts:

1) You're invited to collect lost toys from the street, to label it with date, time and the coordinates of the finding place. You can give a name to the object, and if you like you can even note a story that the toy recalls you of. Card and toy are being put in a grip-bag and sent to the artist.

2) These Toys are being collected in a vitrine on an exposition where they are being shown on an abstract map. (To be seen until 2010 on the 360 exposition by Rasa).

3) On this website (under development), the toys are being shown on interactive maps. It's a platform to share personal stories on the basis of found toys. It will be possible to create stories with the toys: by combining several toys and adding words, you're connecting them into a narrative. These stories can be visualised as a path through space, since they consist of toys that are found in all parts of the world.
